Making lace since the 1980’s, Sharon’s lace journey has taken her through the English laces, with just a brief stop at Honiton and on to experiencing Milanese lace with Pat Read with whom she designed several pieces. City and Guilds opened up a broader experience resulting in the opportunity to study design methods with the Czech lacemakers since 2007. Using this knowledge and learnt skills enabled her to work with colleagues supporting lacemakers during the ‘barren’ Covid years.

Sharon qualified and taught for Adult Education for a number of years.  She currently has regular weekly classes and runs regular workshops and is keen to keep traditions alive – but with a twist to keep it up to date!
